The guesthouse „Smaidas” is located in Ragaciems, a peaceful place, near the sea – only 10 km from Kauguri. We are right between Lake Kaņieris and the Baltic Sea – only 350 meters to the sea and 250 meters to the lake. The bus stop to Riga is also just around the corner. If you like seafood then the restaurant „Bermudas” and the best fish market in Latvia – the famous Ragaciems fish market is not far away, just a two minute walk. The cafe „Lindaga” and the bus stop to Kolka are also right next to it. Fresh fish are available in the guesthouse all around the clock. For those who are looking for a romantic place there is a cape with an old lighthouse 2 km from the guesthouse. The new lighthouse is right next to us – 20 meters away. There are usually few people on the beautiful, white sand beach. Some people are even sunbathing naked past the cape towards Kolka. The Museum of Lapmežciems – 3 km. Antiques, various tools used by sailors, boat equipment and relics from ancient settlements – all that can be found here. The most romantic place in the vicinity, however, is „Mīlestības saliņa” (Island of Love) – 3.5 km from the guesthouse in Lake Kaņieris. The pier of Lapmežciems offers the possibility to rent you a boat to get there. Thanks to the relatively low population of Lapmežciems, guests will be able to enjoy the quite flirt of frogs and grasshoppers during nighttime. There is a playground for children in the courtyard.
